“A massive massive thank you to Cliffe FC and everyone that took part for tonight’s football match its been cold, pouring with rain but has been great to see so many supporters out. You guys have managed to raise £327.52 which is absolutely brilliant. Thankyou x”
~ The Thomas Cammack Appeal, 9th May 2012.
Cliffe FC and a SelectXI played out a competitive match in the pouring rain in a fitting tribute and effort in-aide of the Thomas Cammack Appeal.
Cliffe FC raced into the lead, Tom Hogg opening scoring after 15minutes and a deflected Kev Taylor shot made it 2-0. A close range Lee Carter effort made it 3-0 and a powerful Hogg header made it 4-0 at the break. Captain of the SelectXI, Jay Grundy, clawed two goals back in the second half, his first from close range and his second goal a quality effort from outside the box that flew into the top corner. The final score read 4-2 to Cliffe FC.
“A big thank you to everyone who took part, no matter what role, on Wednesday night at Selby Town. Well done.”
~ Keith Tiplady, Cliffe Football Club
